Government House hosted two ceremonies this week for 20 people who have completed the process of gaining British citizenship.
Gaining British citizenship can take many years, with applicants having to complete a rigorous process of checks.
The checks include their financial independence and integrity, biometrics and language skills, and knowledge and understanding of the British way of life.
The Citizenship ceremony is the final step in the process and involves applicants swearing or affirming their allegiance to King Charles III, his heirs and successors.
They are also given their certificates of naturalisation, a personal letter from the Lieutenant Governor and a small gift to mark the occasion.
Government House says it offers “our warm congratulations to our new British citizens, who have chosen to make the Isle of Man their home”.
