Lola Bass has claimed the overall Working Hunter Championship at the Royal Highland Show for the second year running, delivering another faultless performance on Carnsdale Be Charming.
Competing on Sunday, Bass and the 153cm gelding, known as Ralph, jumped what she described as a “foot‑perfect” round over a demanding course to secure the class win before going on to take the overall title.
The result also marked Ralph’s second Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) qualifier in three days, following his victory and HOYS ticket at Lincoln County earlier in the week.
Bass said retaining the Royal Highland crown was “quite an achievement” at one of the most prestigious shows on the circuit, adding that she felt “very blessed” and grateful to the team supporting her and Ralph.
