A driver has been summonsed to court after Roads Policing Unit officers stopped an unroadworthy vehicle during a speed enforcement operation in St Jude’s last night.
Officers, accompanied by one of the Constabulary’s new student officers, were carrying out checks in the area when a vehicle was pulled over for exceeding the speed limit.
Further inspection revealed the car was not in a roadworthy condition, and the driver was found to be using an expired licence.
The vehicle was seized at the roadside and the driver now faces multiple charges.
Police say targeted enforcement activity will continue as part of ongoing efforts to improve safety on the island’s roads.
