Michael Evans described his second-place finish in the Super Twin race as “amazing” after securing his first podium on his birthday.
The achievement marked a career highlight for Evans, who shared the podium with his longtime role model, Michael Dunlop.
“It was just something I’ve wanted to imagine doing for so many years,” Evans said. “To actually end up on the podium with Michael Dunlop was amazing. I couldn’t have hoped for any more.”
Reflecting on the years of dedication behind the milestone, Evans emphasized the effort required to compete at this level. “There’s a lot of hard work and graft to get into the position to even race, let alone podium,” he said.
Ahead of the Superstock and Supertwin races, Evans expressed confidence in his progress. “The Super Stock bike has improved every time we’ve gone out. For the Super Twin, it’s about riding it quicker,” he noted.
Evans also acknowledged the professional growth in his team setup compared to previous years. “The difference between the last couple of years and now is amazing,” he said. “I took a step back and thought, ‘This is all for me?’ I appreciate it so much—everyone’s been so kind.”
