Chairman of the RNLI Douglas Guild, Gilli Cowley, was awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) by the Lieutenant Governor.
On Tuesday (April 8), Gilli was recognised for her tireless dedication, lifelong volunteerism, and unwavering support to the charity.
For many years, Gilli has been the heartbeat of Douglas RNLI’s fundraising efforts, raising over £1 million and bringing the community together through countless events.
Douglas RNLI said: “Her creativity, leadership, and attention to detail have made events like the annual fine-dining Fish Supper, and the beloved ‘Christmas Cracker’ a huge success, all while raising awareness for the lifeboat service we are so proud to support.
“This recognition is a testament to Gilli’s selfless contributions, and we couldn’t be more grateful for all she has done for Douglas RNLI.
“Her passion and dedication have made a lasting impact on us all, and today’s award is just a small reflection of the extraordinary work she has put into our charity and community over the years.”
