Vagabond’s strong start to the calendar year continued on Saturday as they beat Dukinfield 29-15 in Counties 3 ADM Lancashire & Cheshire.
There was also a strong win for Douglas as they beat Regional 2 North West rivals Eccles 43-21.
Having kicked a penalty to put Vagas on the scoreboard, Cam Findlay scored the home side’s first try with Tom Gascoyne added a second before the break.
While Dukinfield levelled with two quick tries in the second half, Vagas responded in equal facing with Gascoyne adding his second before captain Dan Bonwick went over, Findlay duly kicked the conversions to add the extra points.
At Port-e-Chee Kyle Martin and Jonty Cope both touched down twice for Douglas in the first half to give them a lead at half time with Nathan Robson kicking the extra points.
The second half saw Gihard Visagie and Harry Cartwright add two extra tries, with Robson adding the extra points to secure the win.
