The Chief Minister has confirmed that government will not release a project‑level breakdown of the £14.6 million in efficiencies until after the financial year ends.
Alfred Cannan MHK was responding to a written question from Rushen MHK Juan Watterson, who asked for the £14.6 million to be split by project, separated into cashable and non‑cashable savings, with an explanation of how non‑cashable savings had been quantified and the timescale for each project’s benefits.
Mr Cannan said the intention “remains to publish a more detailed account of the projects and initiatives delivered during 2026” in the programme’s Annual Report, which will be released “soon after the end of the 2025/26 financial year”.
Latest Figures
The Chief Minister referred to the programme’s latest quarterly report, covering the period up to December 2025, which identified £14.63 million in potential benefits. These are categorised as:
- £13.43m cash‑releasing
- £1.20m non‑cash‑releasing
Mr Cannan said the £14.6 million relates to benefits classed as “Potential Identified”, the first of three stages used by the programme.
Will it Happen?
At this stage, benefits have not yet been validated with departmental Chief Officers and “may or may not come to fruition”.
They are drawn from a range of sources, including both top‑down and bottom‑up assessments.
