Students from across the island were celebrated for their dedication to Manx culture at the North American Manx Association awards.
The annual event, established in 1978, recognises young people’s outstanding achievements in preserving and promoting Manx heritage.
Sam Barker, 18, from Castle Rushen, received an award for his excellence in Manx music, performing on violin during the ceremony. Cara Leadley, 16, of QE II, was honoured for her achievements in Manx language.
Designs
Breesha Jenkins, 17, also from Castle Rushen, was recognised for her work in Manx art and crafts, showcasing a self-designed Manx-themed dress.
Arbory Primary School’s dance group impressed with a medley of traditional performances, while Elev8, team of sixth-formers from Castle Rushen,were awarded for their community contributions.
Bronte Morrison (14) and Penny Lavery (14) were commended for their progress in learning Manx, and Orry Franklin from Bunscoill Ghaelgagh was praised for his commitment to the language.
Daphne Caine Minister for Education, Sport and Culture, announced the winners, with Sarah Maltby MHK presenting specially minted silver medals.
