The Ben-my-Chree is to undergo a refit to improve standards onboard, the Steam Packet’s boss has announced.
Brian Thomson told the Government Conference about plans to modernise the former flagship.
Since retiring as the flagship, the Ben has stepped in to assist with freight services, been sent on charter to Stena Line and deputised for Manxman when needed.
Speaking at the conference, Mr Thomson said the company is working on its fleet management strategy for the coming years and how it can best serve passengers.
He said the company will be sending the Ben for a refit at the end of this year or early next year to “bring it up to some standards”.
