Bushy’s Relocation Moves a Step Closer

The DoI has given the go-ahead for Castletown Town Commissioners to sell its former works yard to Bushy’s.

Bushy’s announced plans to relocate to Castletown back in 2022.

Under the deal reach, the brewery will buy the area currently comprising the Commissioners’ Work Yard, workshops, Thie Clooie, and ancillary buildings and land situated on Alexandra Road, Castletown, for £650,000 plus VAT.

Chairman of the Commissioners, Beth Cannan, said, “It’s an exciting time for the town to see this new development taking shape.

“While the re-establishment of a brewery in Castletown is a significant development in its own right, the longer-term creation of a brewery tap will not only provide employment opportunities but also create an additional attraction in the town, complementing our existing heritage sites.

“We would like to thank Bushy’s for their ongoing belief in the potential of Castletown as a centre for their operations.”

The brewery has previously received planning approval to convert the site into a tap room, restaurant and offices.
