An MHK has asked the Health Minister to disclose how many people in health or care settings have been formally assessed as lacking capacity over the past five years.
In a written Tynwald question, Julie Edge MHK requests a detailed breakdown of every assessment carried out by a qualified medical practitioner, including:
- Where the assessment form was completed
- The practitioner’s professional qualification
- How long the practitioner had known the individual
- How many times the person’s family had provided input
Ms Edge has raised several issues in recent months around transparency and record‑keeping within Manx Care and the wider health service.
This latest request signals continued pressure on the department to provide clearer insight into how vulnerable individuals are assessed and supported.
