St Christopher’s are back with its streetwise scheme with the aim of keeping young people safe during TT week.
This year for the second time, the charity will be supporting the wider community further.
In 2024, it expanded Streetwise to make the scheme available to all young people, not just those in its care.
This continued chapter comes with the full backing of Manx Care, the Isle of Man Constabulary, the Mayor of Douglas and Douglas City Centre Management.
Keep Youngsters Safe
St Christopher’s will have a visible base on Douglas promenade in the main hub of the festivities.
The area will be a safe space for all young people, where they can have access to fully vetted, trained and experienced staff, who can also liaise with additional agencies to ensure the welfare of those they support.
The Streetwise team will be easily identifiable and will be out and about in the prom area and have a presence at Bushy’s as well and will also collaborate with youth workers from the IOM Youth Service.
Streetwise
The aim is to build trust and confidence with young people and to provide support, advice and guidance for those who may find themselves in situations where they feel they may need help or support.
Streetwise will operate daily from May 30 through to June 8 from 6pm until 12am.
