Fire fighters from Laxey dealt with a tricky van fire this evening which saw a road closure at Dhoon Tram station.
The crew were called to the area just after 7:20pm, with the van being “well alight” when they arrived.
Three firefighters in breathing apparatus, using two high pressure hose reels knocked the main part of the fire down.
The Fire and Rescue Service said: “The incident was made more difficult due to the diesel tank rupturing; crews worked hard to put a main jet fan spray in place (pictured) to extinguish the leaking diesel whilst ensuring the contents of the van were simultaneously extinguished.
“The road was closed for over half an hour by our partners from the Isle of Man Constabulary to ensure the safety of all in the area.”
