Patients travelling back to the island from Liverpool could be set to lose their quiet room at John Lennon Airport.
The room at Liverpool was opened in 2020 in partnership with the trustees of the Isle of Man Breast Cancer Support Charity.
Carole Male posted on the support group for people using the service saying the airport intends to repurpose the area.
She said: “We’re devastated about the news that John Lennon Airport Liverpool have arbitrarily decided to close down our Patient Quiet Room there to use for more retail space.”
And added: “Sadly the new Commercial Director atJohn Lennon Airport Liverpool is making new plans that don’t include our patients.”
Carole said has contacted a director of Peel Ports, which is part of the wider Peel Group that actually owns the airport, while Onchan MHK Rob Callister has said he will take the matter up with the Manx government.
