This weekend will see the final two spots in this year’s Railway Cup filled, with four teams still in the hunt.
The spots are filled by the top four teams at the midway stage in the season.
With leaders Ayre and second placed Peel already in the draw, Foxdale are currently third, but their destiny is not in their own hands as they have already played their 12 games. However, a Laxey win and a draw or win for St Mary’s will likely be enough.
Corinthians are currently fourth and will qualify with a win. Laxey will make the cut if they beat Onchan, while St Mary’s will need to beat Corinthians, overturn an eight goal deficit to qualify and hope Laxey lose to be in the draw.
Elsewhere in the top flight, Marown will be hoping last week’s win over St George’s could kick start a run of form, in their way is Peel, who will be smarting after being beat 1-4 at home by St Mary’s last week.
Leaders Ayre travel to Ramsey for what is always a well supported northern derby, while Rushen host Union Mills and its battle of the saints as St John’s host St Georges.
Promotion Battle
In Division 2 the fight for promotion to the promised land sees second play third as Colby host Braddan, while Old Boys head to Pulrose as they look to extend their lead at the top.
The other two games see D&D host Malew, while Governors Athletic head to Ballafletcher to face Douglas Royal.
