DfE Told to Redo FoI Response

The Information Commissioner has partially upheld a complaint against the Department for Enterprise over its response to an FoI request about Visit Isle of Man.

The applicant asked for an organisation chart showing staff job titles and civil service pay scales attached to each post.

While the department provided most information, the Commissioner found it failed to disclose the specific pay bands for individual roles.

The department directed the applicant to the Office of Human Resources pay scales website instead. The Commissioner ruled this was insufficient, stating: “To properly compare job titles with their respective salaries, the authority must disclose the specific pay band assigned to each individual role.”

Dr Alexandra Delaney-Bhattacharya said the department must either disclose the pay band information or issue a formal refusal notice within 30 days.
