The Department of Infrastructure has reminded motorists that the tram crossing at The Bungalow is in operation right through the year.
Even when the overhead cables are down, a rail car services the National Air Traffic Services masts at the summit of Snaefell.
It is also joined at this time of year by Snaefell Mountain Railway cars doing test runs and undertaking maintenance tasks ahead of the new season.
The department said: ‘Motorists are reminded that they must stop when the red tram crossing lights are illuminated whatever time of the year.’
