Fake news stories about a Manx journalist are leading social media users to a website which triggers virus warnings.
The posts include a fake version of our Manx.News website.
In one such post, it remarks that journalist Paul Moulton’s career is over due to something he said on a microphone he didn’t know was on.
It goes on to say: “The Bank of the Isle of Man is suing Paul Moulton over statements he made on live television.”
It goes on to detail a fake conversation between Mr Moulton and Onchan MHK Julie Edge.
The posts have been reported to the UKNCSC and the IOMOCISA.
