Douglas Road in Peel is currently closed while fire crews battle with a fire at Peel Golf Course.
Pumps and emergency vehicles are currently blocking the route with people asked to find an alternative way into or out of Peel.
The road is closed between the crossroads at Tynwald, St John’s to the junction with Queens Drive and Albany Road in Peel.
Police said: “Please, where possible, avoid the Heritage Trail footpath. There is significant smoke in the area and our colleagues at IOMFRS request the area is avoided for your own safety!”
