The government has moved to reassure residents over fuel supplies following the announcement of a temporary ceasefire in the Middle East.
Officials said there is currently “no issue with the supply of any fuel to the Isle of Man”.
The statement comes as global markets remain on alert over potential disruption.
However, government stressed that the island “continues to receive adequate deliveries” and is in “close and regular contact with fuel suppliers, who are confident that supplies will continue”.
Prices
While fuel prices have increased recently, government noted that “petrol, gas and heating oil prices currently remain lower than they were in 2022, after Russia invaded Ukraine”.
The government thanked “members of the public for avoiding unnecessary stockpiling and for considering the needs of others when refilling vehicles or ordering fuel”.
A spokesperson said “our thoughts are with all those impacted, particularly Manx residents with family, friends or other close connections in the region”.
The Treasury Minister will provide an economic update to Tynwald later this month, and the government’s Cost of Living website has been updated with the latest advice.
The spokesperson added: “The interest, safety and wellbeing of Manx residents – both at home and abroad – is our first priority.”
