High Pass Rates for GCSE Students

Hundreds of young people have collected their GCSE, IGCSE and other technical or vocational qualification results in the Isle of Man today.

The provisional results for all level 1 and 2 qualifications are:

  • Overall level 1 and 2 pass rate (IGCSE/GCSE grades A*-G or equivalent) is 98%
  • Level 2 pass rate (IGCSE/GCSE grades A*-C or equivalent) is 73%
  • Pass rate at the highest grades (IGCSE/GCSE grades A*-A or equivalent) is 20%

Early indications suggest that around half of the island’s 16-year-old school leavers will continue their education in sixth form, with a further 40% due to begin a course at University College Isle of Man and around 10% who will enter employment.

Students will be able to take advantage of drop-in sessions with qualified careers advisers throughout the summer holidays.

All the details, along with further information and resources, can be found on the signposts website.

GCSE Results

King William’s College is celebrating an excellent set of GCSE results, with its Year 11 students achieving an overall pass rate (9-4 or A*-C) of 89%, 22% of grades being at 9/8 or A* and 41% of grades at 9-7 or A*/A.

This is the best set of results (excluding the Covid years) by this metric since 2016.

The school delighted to recognise the students who have earned Full Academic Colours in this year’s GCSE results.

This prestigious award is given to those who achieved straight A*/A or 9-7 grades, with a minimum of five grades at A*/8.

Students with any lower grades can offset them by achieving additional A*/8/9s, making this accomplishment all the more impressive.

It extend congratulations to Alexander Brown, Sam Fearnley, Charlotte Geldart, Arne Gödden, Amélie Harding, Sophie Bateson, Guy McGuinness, Emilia Steriopulos and Jacob Turner for receiving this significant honour.
