Ingham Kicks Off Event Season

The newly crowned Sportswoman of the Year, Yasmin Ingham kicked off her 2025 event season on Saturday with two top ten placings.

The 27-year-old rode four horses for Janette Chinn and The Sue Davies Trust at Poplar Park Horse Trials in Suffolk.

Competing in the Open Intermediate section she finished in 6th place on 15-year-old Rehy DJ, whom she came third on last summer in Germany at Luhmühlen CCI5*.

Season Underway

At the Suffolk event on Saturday (March 1), she also rode her two nine-year-olds, Gypsie Du Loir and Goliath Du Loir, where she finished 7th and 20th.

Poplar Park was also her first competition on eight-year-old Kinda Corvette, the new partnership finished in 18th place in the Open Novice section.

This coming Thursday (March 6), Yasmin and six-year-old Joli Coeur Menjoulet will be heading to Oasby in Lincolnshire to compete in the BE100.

Then Saturday (March 8) she will be heading to Hampshire to compete at Tweseldown in the Open Intermediate class with Gypsie Du Loir, Goliath Du Loir, Rehy DJ and her Olympic partner Banzai Du Loir.

Busy Week

On Thursday (February 27), Ingham won Sportswoman of the Year at the Isle of Man Sports Awards.

Last year, Ingham placed third at Kentucky Horse Trials, won at the prestigious German Championships (the first Brit to ever do so) and gained Olympic experience with Team GB in Paris.

This was her fourth time claiming the title of Isle of Man Sportswoman of the Year.

She previously won the award at the Villa Marina in 2019, 2020 and 2022.

To finish off a very busy week, on Sunday (March 2) she opened The National Equine Show at the NEC in Birmingham.
