A yellow weather warning is currently in force for icy patches and wintry showers.

Sunny intervals today, with just a few sleet or hail showers showers, these becoming more frequent later this evening & overnight.

Temperatures only up to 4°C but feeling much colder in the moderate or fresh northerly wind.

Outlook

Mainly dry at first on Tuesday, but a band of rain or sleet will arrive late morning, falling as snow over high ground. Winds will be fresh to strong west or south-westerlies with temperatures up to 7°C.

The rain or sleet will clear during Tuesday evening with the risk of wintry showers returning overnight into Wednesday.
