Nearly 100 People Turn Out For Dawn Walk

Close to 100 people turned out for a Dawn Walk organised by Isle of Man Samaritans to mark 45 years of listening on the Isle of Man.

Setting off at 6am on Saturday (March 29), walkers watched the sun rise while they walked along Douglas promenade to Douglas City Hall.

The walk aimed to raise awareness of the support that is available to anyone in the Isle of Man community trying to find a way out of their own darkness.

Successful Walk

“The walk was a great success,” said Mike Nudd, Isle of Man Branch Director.

“We have been lucky enough to have been running our charity on the Island for 45 years and it was a great event to celebrate this. It was also great to see so many other respected local charities collaborate with us on the day.”

Once walkers reached Douglas City Hall, walkers were greeted by the Mayor of Douglas, Mrs Natalie Byron-Teare, and walkers enjoyed a cup of tea or coffee while they continued their conversations with fellow participants.

If you don’t feel like there’s anyone you can talk to, volunteers are there for you.

Call free, day or night, on 116 123, or email jo@samaritans.org.
