No Cycling on Mountain

The Isle of Man Constabulary has issued fresh safety messages as the Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT period gets underway.

The force is reminding the public that cycling is prohibited on the Mountain Road between Ramsey Hairpin and the Creg‑ny‑Baa until 4:30pm on Monday, August 31.

Clear signage is in place, and police say the restriction is essential for public safety while the course is in use.

The Mountain remains two‑way throughout the event, and officers are asking all road users to make sensible, informed decisions.

With residents, visitors and workers travelling across the island as normal, police say choices made on the road “affect far more than just you”, with incidents also impacting racing schedules and emergency services.

Be Careful

Police have also issued campsite safety advice, warning that busy sites can create opportunities for theft.

Visitors are urged to secure belongings, avoid leaving valuables inside tents, keep cash and cards on their person, and report any suspicious activity.

Officers say the island’s low crime rate should not lead to complacency when large numbers of people are present.

With weather likely to disrupt racing, the Clerk of the Course will continue to publish updated schedules.

Police are asking riders and drivers to ride and drive to the conditions, stay within their limits and avoid actions that could cause further delays.

Crashes, infrastructure damage, oil spills and entering closed roads all have significant consequences for racing and for partner services responding to incidents.
