The Villa has said its ticketing system did not crash as tickets for Paolo Nutini sold out in just 19 minutes.
Scottish singer-songwriter Nutini will play the Villa Marina on August 2.
The Villa said: “Whilst we appreciate there will be disappointment for those who missed out both on-line and in-person we can confirm that the system did not crash and there was a maximum allocation of six tickets per transaction.
“This was strictly adhered to across all of our box office outlets.
“We worked hard with our ticketing system providers Ticketsolve in advance to make the queueing system as fair as possible and will ensure that the Royal Hall is at full capacity with a waiting list available.”
