Due to the red weather warning issued for Storm Éowyn, DEFA has made the decision to close all Plantations and National Glens for public safety.
The closure period will come into affect from this evening at 10pm until Saturday at 6pm.
The department urges everyone to respect these closures and avoid entering these areas during this time to ensure your safety.
Following the storm, all Plantations and Glens will remain closed, and DEFA staff will conduct safety checks beginning Monday (January 27).
Plantations Closed
Again, DEFA urges the public to exercise caution and avoid entering these areas during the closure period.
It asks for members of the public to remain vigilant when visiting these areas after they reopen, as there may still be unsafe or unstable trees and potential windblown hazards.
