Groudle Glen Railway has said proposals put forward by the government could make it easier to close sections of the island’s heritage railways.
The government is currently consulting on permitted developments, simply put things that don’t need planning permission.
In a plea to supporters, the GGR has asked people to read and provide comment on the documents.
It said: “The proposed changes to the Permitted Development Order which are being put forward by Planning Dept. could aid/reinforce efforts with regard to not completing the Horse Tramway to the Sea Terminal and potentially removing the MER tramway in whole or part between Laxey and Ramsey.
“t is changing from the order simply saying: installation to including ALTERATION and REMOVAL!
