A 170‑car field has been confirmed for this year’s Manx National Rally, with organisers hailing it as the biggest entry in 60 years of closed‑road rallying on the island.
The seeded list, released ahead of the May event, has been selected from an overwhelming 231 entries, with a small number of reserves still hoping to make the start.
Crews are travelling from across the UK and Ireland, as well as Japan.
Manx Rally
The rally, run by Manx Auto Sport, forms part of five major championships, including the Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship, the British Historic Rally Championship and the Manx Auto Sport Championship.
Jersey driver Sam Touzel and co‑driver Max Freeman will lead the field away as car one in their Ford Fiesta Rally2. They are followed by former winner Jason Pritchard and Phil Clarke in a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2, with David Wright and Hugh Hunter seeded at three and four in Fiesta Rally2s.
Irish visitor Ryan Loughran completes the top five.
A strong top ten also features Niall McGonigle (VW Polo GTi R5), Cal McCarthy (Citroën C3 Rally2), Brad Cole (Fiesta Rally2), Steve Wood (Polo GTi R5) and Roger Duckworth (Fiesta R5).
