The DoI has announced that surface dressing works will get underway this Saturday.
Roads will be closed to vehicles during the works, with on-street parking suspended. Affected residents have been notified, and diversion routes will be in place.
Saturday 26 July – Douglas, West & North
South Quay, Douglas, will be closed between the two roundabouts (lifting bridge to stone bridge) from early morning, aiming to finish by 8am.
Traffic management staff will assist vehicles heading to Douglas Head.
Groves Road, Pulrose, will be partially closed in the morning, with access maintained to the NSC.
Saddle Road will be closed in the morning, along with a section of Poortown Road, German. Cranstal Road, Bride, will be closed in the afternoon from Point of Ayre to the village roundabout, with works continuing into Sunday.
Sunday 27 July – North
Works will conclude on Cranstal Road, with Lhen Road, Bride, closed from Thurot Cottage Road to the village. Ballacrye Road, Ballaugh, and sections of Ballamona Road and Sandygate Road, Jurby, will also be closed.
Monday 28 July – North & South
Colby Glen Road, Arbory, and Summerhill Road, Jurby, will be resurfaced.
The works are weather-dependent, with updates provided via roadside signs and social media if rescheduling is needed.
After Surface Dressing
Loose chippings will be swept over several days. From Saturday 2 August, KielyLock will be applied to seal the surface, improving durability. Road markings will be reinstated from Sunday 3 August, taking approximately one week to complete.
