Noble’s Hospital has cancelled all elective procedures from this afternoon until next Monday due to “significant operational pressures”.
All cancer care and urgent treatments will continue as planned. However, patients awaiting non-urgent surgery face delays.
Manx Care said demand for services increased “dramatically overnight and into this morning”, forcing the move to protect emergency and critical care.
Aspokesperson said: “We understand how disappointing and frustrating this will be for those affected, and we are truly sorry for the impact this may have, whether you are waiting in the Emergency Department or for a scheduled procedure.”
Emergency services remain open and available.
Manx Care thanked patients for their “patience and understanding” while teams focus on those most in need. The situation is being reviewed daily.
