The education department will consider potential options for improving parking and pupil drop-off arrangements at Arbory School this month.
Responding to a Tynwald question from Jason Moorhouse, minister Daphne Caine confirmed that a paper containing “various options and costs of potential improvements” will be brought to the next department meeting.
However, Mr Moorhouse expressed frustration over the pace of progress, noting discussions had taken place in January and “we are now heading towards June, so there’s really a really slow process”.
When asked whether teachers, parents or children would have input, Mrs Caine told members: “I think for now it’s best that we wait the presentation of the paper to the department with the available options that have been identified.”
Tim Glover sought confirmation that none of the options involve land purchase.
However, the minister said she had not yet seen the paper, adding: “As soon as we are presented with the options, the department will be able to determine the way forward.”
Julie Edge asked about funding prioritisation and which other school schemes are in the pipeline, with Mrs Caine saying the Arbory scheme “will be decided on its merits when it comes forward”.
