A free heart screening event organised by Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) and Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation tested 395 people on the island this weekend.
The screenings are aimed at detecting undiagnosed heart conditions in young people.
Of those screened 15 people have been found to have problems which will now be referred and treated accordingly.
Set up in memory of Craig Lunt, the charity has funded thousands of screenings on the island and saved lives both by detecting undiagnosed issues and through the defibrillators it has funded.
CRY’s screenings are crucial in preventing sudden cardiac deaths in young individuals, often caused by undetected genetic or structural heart conditions.
