Torden Stores in Port St Mary has announced it will close after five years serving the community, with the family behind the business saying the decision has been “emotionally and mentally” difficult.
Vicky and David, along with Hayden, Torryn and their well‑known shop companion Sarge, said they were “incredibly grateful” for the support shown by customers since opening.
They added that they will “cherish the memories” and remain living in Port St Mary, which they say “has our hearts”.
The store is now selling remaining stock along with heavier items such as shelving, card racks and machines.
It will open Monday to Thursday, 10am to 3pm, for the next two weeks while the clearance continues.
In a message to customers, the family said: “From the bottom of my heart I cannot thank each and every one of you enough.”
