Castletown Commissioners says 12 formerly contract parking spaces are now available to use for visitors to the town.
It said the spaces have been incorporated into the wider carpark to provide additional short-term parking for all visitors to Castletown.
There are no restrictions on the George Paddock carpark overnight, and parking continues to be available for residents.
The authority said: “We appreciate that this change has affected a number of long-term contract parking holders. However, it was increasingly evident that these spaces were often underutilised during periods of key demand, and this change supports feedback received regarding the seasonal closure of the Square.
“The released spaces are indicated on the aerial image below by the green markings. We also continue to offer a limited number of contract parking spaces in the Chapel Lane car park, and private, controlled off-street parking is available from Dandara, adjacent to Castle Court as highlighted in red.”
