The TT timetable will continue to be assessed annually, the DfE Minister has said.
Tim Johnston confirmed the stance following a question from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse.
The Department for Enterprise, as promoter of the TT, undertakes a multi-agency debrief each year which involves key players including ACU Events Ltd, the TT Marshals’ Association, and Manx Roadracing Medical Services.
Mr Johnston, said: “The TT Races timetable is subject to continuous review and refinement.”
He added the review ensures the schedule “remains aligned with the TT’s long-term strategic objectives and the broader policy framework governing motorsport on the Island.”
Changes
Mr Johnston said this ongoing assessment has directly led to several changes for the 2026 event.
These include extending Qualifying Week to seven sessions, adding a new daytime session, introducing a Thursday rest day, and enhancing contingency capacity for weather disruptions.
A refreshed class structure, featuring the new Sportbike TT and a rebalanced race-week format have also been confirmed.
