University College Isle of Man’s students are celebrating the release of their results, with multiple receiving first class awards.
Among the Computer Science and Cybersecurity degree students who are celebrating achieving a first class with honours, is Kaishya Desai and Elliot Revere.
Kaishya moved to the Isle of Man a few years ago, when her family relocated from the USA.
Firsts For Students
Previously, she had enjoyed her first year at University in Colorado. In September, Kaishya is moving to Durham to complete her Masters.
Kaishya said: “I really enjoyed my experience at UCM. It’s been really fulfilling. I really appreciated being able to ask questions and get lots of feedback from my lecturers.”
After completing his GCSEs, Elliot studied the Level 3 IT course at UCM before progressing onto the Bachelor of Science degree.
“The support here is so much better than University across, you get a lot more one on one time; when you get your marks back it’s not just reading it, you can speak to the teacher, and they will go through it with you. Everything is a lot more personalised to you.”
High Grades
UCM’s Higher Education Manager, Gail Corrin, said: “It’s fantastic to see so many students receiving such high grades, which is testament to the high quality of teaching at UCM and the hard work of the students, our fantastic resources and the support available to our students.
“We’ve been a partner of the University of Chester for more than 10 years, and in that time our students have enjoyed excellent results which rival and surpass studying in the UK.
“A huge well done to all of our students who have completed their degrees, we wish them all the very best for their future and look forward to celebrating their achievements at the Graduates’ Ceremony in October”.
Results from across the rest of UCM’s degree programmes are yet to be finalised.
