Tom Weeden has expressed his gratitude to the medical teams and marshals who assisted him following a crash in qualifying.

The rider, who is awaiting transfer to Aintree Hospital for ankle reconstruction, said: “Just waiting on the soft tissue to repair and then I’ll be air medded over to Aintree to reconstruct the ankle.”
He praised the care he received at Nobles Hospital, saying: “I can’t thank the staff at Nobles enough for all the care they have given me over the last few days.
“Have been in a lot of pain but they’ve done their best to keep me comfortable and in high spirits.”
Weeden also thanked the marshals and air medics who attended the scene, adding: “A big thanks again to the marshals, travelling marshal and air med team who were first on the scene.”
Despite the setback, he remains positive, stating: “I still feel incredibly lucky to be here, it’s bad but could have been much much worse.”
Acknowledging the accident as a “freak incident,” Weeden affirmed his love for the TT, saying: “Still love the TT and will aim to be back asap doing what I love.”
He also thanked his sponsors, saying: “It’s not gone the way we want at all this year but thanks for sticking by me!”
