Tynwald has been told that £15.8 million in “potential benefits” identified in the government’s Efficiencies and Change Programme spans three different categories of savings, but a detailed breakdown has yet to be published.
In a written question to the Chief Minister, Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper asked for the value of recurrent savings, cash‑releasing savings, and efficiency or cost‑avoidance measures contained within the programme’s latest annual report.
The Efficiencies and Change Programme Annual Report (GD 2026/0067) lists £15.8 million in potential benefits across government, but does not specify how much of that figure falls into each category.
Mr Hooper pressed for clarity on how much represents ongoing savings, how much will free up cash within departmental budgets, and how much relates to avoided future costs.
A formal breakdown is expected to be provided in the Chief Minister’s written response later this month.
