The Liberal Vannin says it is “dismayed” of the possible closure of the Family Library.
Funding issues mean the charity is likely to close in the summer, ending its community services.
The part said that the library’s functions are “highly valued services catering for families with young children, people in residential homes and others with poor transport connections”.
It said: “We call on the Minister for Education, Sport and Culture to work with the current management committee and local authorities to come up with a sustainable solution.
“We have called for this for the last three to five years and hope that, this time, meaningful action will be taken.”
Paul Weatherall, Chair of Liberal Vannin, and vic chair of Ballaugh Commmissioners, said he hopes that all local authorities will write to the Minister and their local MHKs urging them to support these services, as Ballaugh Parish Commissioners agreed to do at their meeting last night.
