Heritage Sites Opening Today

Manx National Heritage’s historic visitor attraction sites are opening today for the 2025 visitor season. 

Iconic historic attractions include the Great Laxey Wheel, Castle Rushen, the Nautical Museum, Peel Castle, Cregneash, Rushen Abbey and the Grove Museum.

Fascinating tours of Castletown’s historic sites, will start from Saturday (March 29) taking in the Nautical Museum, Old House of Keys and Old Grammar School.

Connie Lovel, Chief Executive for Manx National Heritage said: “Our seasonal sites reopening is always a time of year we look forward to as our site teams, volunteers and supporters bring the Manx National Heritage sites to life for the island’s residents and visitors to enjoy. 

“We have already welcomed the island’s first tour group visitors of the season, and we look forward to welcoming many more throughout the year and to creating memorable experiences for our visitors, from near or far”. 

From climbing the Great Laxey Wheel to exploring the Isle of Man’s two magnificent medieval castles there are many days out and activities to look forward to throughout the months ahead. 

Extended opening hours will be in place at the Great Laxey Wheel during June, July and August.

Manx National Heritage also offer extended opening by request in advance, to accommodate visiting tour groups and cruise ship visits.
